Clever Free Advertising for Mexico

Have you ever heard of a website called Craig’s List? If not, you should because it has been around for quite a while. Craig’s List is basically a free service and from a meager beginning it has grown worldwide. They even have a presence in many communities in Mexico.
How can Craig’s list help you in your pursuit of business? You can advertise properties for sale in many cities in the USA, Canada and many other countries. You can post pictures of your properties and even post links to your company website.
They do have rules. You must sign up and become a member. Most free ads only last for 30 to 45 days. Craig’s list will not allow you to have multiple listing in several cities. However, if you have 10 agents, each of your agents can post a RE listing in a different city or they can post in the same city. Besides, I think they track you according to your email address.
Craig’s List became so popular that EBay purchased a 25% stake in the company. Now that’s saying something. EBay wanted to start a similar website and in order to speed up the process they purchased the secrets for millions. Now they have a similar website called Kijiji. They don’t have the Internet presence of Craig’s List yet but you should know that they are aggressively trying. Their rules are similar to those of Craig’s List.
The third company I would have you look at is called Back Page. They have free and paid advertising but they are mostly in the US and Canada. They do have paid advertising for ad insertions into multiple cities.

Check out these three sources and start posting you listings and don’t forget to place a link back to your website. Post to cities where a number of your customers have come from in the past.

When I used to vacation in Mazatlan, nine years ago now, I met many people from the Seattle area. They had timeshares at Torres Mazatlan. I have read that many Canadians go to San Blas, Nayarit.
Recently I read an article where it was estimated that fully one third of the expats in Mexico were Canadians. Don’t ignore the Canadian cities.
Remember to develop your ad in such a way that people will be anxious to click the link to your website.
